SGM PLAYERS
The play is over and all who came had a great time. There are so many people to thank; we pray we do not forget anyone or any group.
The Holy Name Society did the setting up and taking down of the chairs and tables. They also manned the ticket booth. Thank you gentlemen you did a wonderful job. The ladies of the Women's Guild were there every show to provide the refreshments. Job well done ladies! Bill & Kathy O'Connor .bless you for taking on the task of the "Spaghetti Dinner". Fran Jurek, Kevin Fagan, Rosie Paschal, Frances Smith, and Mary Lednicky handled the "Lasagna Dinner" beautifully. Thank you one and all. Our faithful and diverse cast and crew worked so hard to bring you an entertaining evening or afternoon event. They put in a month of labor lining lines, making costumes, building sets, etc. They hope you left the show smiling and laughing. Our greatest thank you goes to Fran Jurek, our friend who is always willing to do what ever it takes to get the job done. She sold tickets, bought groceries, set up tables, ran a taxi service, and a million other jobs. It's people like her that keep our world going strong. Lastly thank you to all who supported this event. Without an audience there would be no laughter.

CONGRATULATIONS
Wedding Banns are announced for Jesse Bieker and Kim Cleary.

WHAT'S YOUR CATHOLIC IQ?
The answers to last week's questions were: 1. (b); 2 (a); 3. (b); 4. (c); 5. (a);.6 (d); 7 (true)
Questions for this week are all about being a Catholic school child in 1958. Think back to a time when the black habits the nuns wore covered everything but their face and hands. (Did the nuns have hair under those veils?) Sitting in class, Sr. Mary Mary probably asked you some of the following questions.
1. Sr. Mary Mary led the class to Mass every morning. What does the class do when the gospel is read? (a) stand; (b) sit; (c) kneel;(d) pray; (e) none of the above.
2. All good little Catholic boys and girls carried a rosary. How many Hail Marys are said when praying the standard rosary? (a) 53; (b) 51; (c) 50; (d) 55; (e) none of the above.
3. Sr. Mary Mary told the class that they could avoid going to hell by having a scapular. What is a scapular? (a) book; (b) bracelet; (c) necklace; (d) holy card; (e) none of the above.
4. The class learned that after death, souls could go to heaven, purgatory, limbo or hell. What example did Sr. Mary Mary give as who would go to limbo? (a) Protestants; (b) Muslims; (c) divorcees; (d) babies; (e) none of the above.
5. Sr. Mary Mary never failed to alert the class to upcoming Holy Days of Obligation. What did the Church require on these days? (a) fasting and abstinence; (b) Mass attendance; (c) money donations; (d) all of the above; (e) none of the above.
6. Heaven forbid that anyone in Sr. Mary Mary's class risk the mortal sin of eating meat on a Friday. On what other weekday were hot dogs forbidden? (a) Saturday; (b) Sunday; (c) Thursday; (d) Wednesday; (e) none of the above.
7. While Sr. Mary Mary's class understood very little of the Latin Mass, most had pictorial missals to help follow the proceedings. What was the class trained to do when it heard "sanctus, sanctus, sanctus"? (a) leave; (b) stand; (c) kneel; (d) sit; (e) none of the above.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
We believe that the word of God is alive and has the power to reach deep into our hearts. Let us ponder the question that Jesus asked His Disciples; "Who do you say that I am?" Each of us is invited to ask ourselves just who Jesus is and what meaning He has in our life.

Here the prayer of your people,
O God of Mercy and love.
When we stray, bring us back to you.
When we are tempted to find fulfillment elsewhere,
Lead us to return to your presence.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
