It teaches children how to recognize predatory behavior and protect themselves.

BEWARE
The Archdiocese of Chicago has sent a warning to each parish about a fraudulent activity that was reported in areas of Vicariates III and V.
A man representing himself as "Fr. Carlos" or "Fr. Carlos Castillo" or a similar name has been going door-to-door under the pretense of being a priest. He claims he is in transition from an assignment in Joliet to an assignment in Chicago, or is a priest from the local parish. The man exhibits an ID card or letter to validate his identity, but these are fraudulent. He attempts to register children for Religious Education classes, and tries to solicit donations.
Please be aware of this scam. If he approaches you, call the police.

WHAT'S YOUR CATHOLIC IQ?
There are no questions this week.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
The scriptures this week again call us to place forgiveness and reconciliation at the heart of our Christian lives. Wrath and anger, the book of Sirach reminds us, are hateful things. In the Gospel Jesus advises Peter that he must be willing to forgive his neighbor not seven times but seventy-seven times. Let us pray that the world, divided by war and terrorism, will be made whole through the peace that comes from God.

Please keep the victims of Hurricane Katrina and their loved ones in your prayers. They will need our prayers and help for a long time to come.
