THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
God gathers us together on this Third Sunday in Lent to hear the
words that have the potential to transform our lives. The Ten Commandments
are set before us to guide the way we should live our lives. We
also will hear about Jesus and his cleansing the temple of those
who turned his Father's house into a marketplace. The Lord wants
to cleanse us of all that prevents us from having a clear vision
of God's plan for us. The refrain for today's responsorial psalm
sums up what our celebration of the liturgy of the word is about:
"Lord, you have the words of everlasting life."
Listen to the prayer of your holy people, O God of Mercy and goodness.
Your law is perfect, refreshing even the worst sinner among us.
Bring your healing love to our broken world and inspire us to live
as witnesses of the Gospel. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
